Welcome to the Canadian Society for Long Term Care Medicine,
This forum is a place to share ideas amongst like-minded Long Term Care professionals. The CSLTCM is focused on highlighting working examples of patient-centred care, identifying gaps in service and care, and representing the workplace interests of providers.

We are shaped by the expertise and wisdom of this group; help us make it a place for intelligent, insightful and entertaining conversation. We understand that conversations can get spirited (the best ones do!), but please be constructive.

UNACCEPTABLE USE
Our community works together to ensure this site fosters education and growth. If you see violations of the following, please report it.

Racism or Hate Speech. Don't post content for the purpose of promoting or inciting the hatred of, or dehumanizing, individuals or groups based on race, ethnic or national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or disease.

Vulgar Content. Profanity, defamatory, libellous, offensive, abusive, discriminatory or demeaning content (including images, videos and links).

Violence. Content that is disparaging, threatening, condoning violence or illegal behaviour.

Violating Privacy. If your posts or comments contain any personal, proprietary, confidential, sensitive, or nonpublic information e.g. names of individuals, email addresses, phone numbers, or patient information.

Deceptive or Fraudulent Links. Don't post deceptive or fraudulent links in your posts. This includes giving links misleading descriptions, putting the wrong “source” in a post, setting misleading click-through links on images, or embedding links to pop-up ads.

Misattribution or Non-Attribution. Make sure you always give proper attribution and include full links back to original sources.

Spam. Don't post excessively repetitive and/or disruptive posts or comments.

Copyright or Trademark Infringement. Respect the copyrights and trademarks of others. View Canada's Copyright Act.

Commercial Posts. If your posts/comments sell products and services or recruit fans and followers etc.
BLOG GUIDELINES
HOW DO I COMMENT?
Commenting is reserved for members of CSLTCM. You will find comments and commenting tools at the bottom of most articles. Members need to be logged in to participate (Not sure if you’re logged in? Check by scrolling to the top and looking for your username on the top right.) All blog posts and comments are only available to members.

CAN I REPLY TO ANOTHER USERS COMMENT?
Currently, it is not possible to reply directly to a specific comment posted in the Blog.
We are working on this feature and it will be implemented soon.

WHY ARE COMMENTS FOR MEMBERS ONLY?
Our priority is to make commenting a valuable experience for our members.

HOW ARE COMMENTS MODERATED?
We ask our members to self-moderate and abide by the rules outlined in this guide. We believe our members can add to the discussion on the many topics we cover. If you find a post or comment in violation of these guidelines, please report it.

WHAT KIND OF POSTS AND COMMENTS ARE REMOVED?

Personal attacks. Attacks against our Board and other community members will be removed. Name-calling, threats and verbal abuse are not tolerated.

Spam.

Trolling. Stay relevant and on topic. Purposely derailing a conversation or posting inflammatory comments, will put you at risk of being suspended or banned.

Discrimination. Attacking a group of people or making broad statements against groups is not allowed.

Illegal activities. Do not make libellous statements or comments that include false or unsubstantiated allegations.

Offensive Usernames. If your username includes words that are offensive or abusive, your account will be blocked.
*CSLTCM reserves the right to suspend, ban and/or disable any user who violates these guidelines.

DOES THE CSLTCM EDIT COMMENTS?
No. We are unable to edit or change any comment posted by a user. Users can edit their own comments indefinitely by clicking the ellipses on the top right hand of the comment and clicking 'Edit'.

I SEE A MISLEADING ARTICLE OR BLOG POST. SHOULD I REPORT IT IN THE COMMENTS?
No. Please use our reporting form.

CAN I DELETE MY COMMENT?
Yes. Users can delete their own comments indefinitely by clicking the ellipses on the top right hand of the comment and clicking 'Delete'.

WHAT OTHER FEATURES ARE AVAILABLE?

Following a post. You can follow a post by clicking the ellipses in the top right corner of the post and clicking 'Follow Post'

Sharing. You can share posts externally on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or any other website with the use of a URL. Click the ellipsis in the top right corner of the post and click 'Share'

Liking. You can click the heart in the bottom right hand corner of the post or comment to like it.
